Using Classical Daoist and traditional methods to treat

Acute and Chronic pain, women’s health concerns,

mental and emotional imbalances, and pain

What is acupuncture and how does it work?

Acupuncture is one of the principal treatment methods of Chinese Medicine. It involves the insertion of tiny stainless steel needles into points along the acupuncture meridians. These channels run through the muscles and organs and carry your body’s vital energy (Qi) to support healthy function and movement. In addition to needles, cupping therapy, moxibustion, and sound therapy (using tuning forks) are useful additions to acupuncture sessions.

According to Chinese Medicine, there are many causes of dis-ease, but each factor results in imbalances in the flow of Qi. By restoring proper movement of Qi, we create a sense of balance and a feeling of well-being on all levels—physical, mental, and emotional.

For women only?

Definitely not. While much of my practice focuses on supporting women and their health concerns, my acupuncture and herbal medicine practice is open to anyone.

Does acupuncture hurt?

The short answer is no. Acupuncture needles are tiny, and most patients report feeling no more than a prick as they are inserted. Acupuncture feels nothing like getting a shot.

What about herbs?

Chinese herbal formulas are powerful. Correctly prescribed, they can support immune health, treat women’s health concerns like PMS, hot flashes, and sleep disorders, provide relief from digestive issues, and support emotional and mental well-being.

do you bill insurance?

Yes, I bill many commercial insurance plan for acupuncture (but not other services I offer). I DO NOT bill Medicaid or Medicare. As of December 1, 2024, I am in-network with Regence, Premera, and Aetna. Reach out, and I’m happy to check your benefits and confirm whether or not your insurance policy will pay for acupuncture services. What about Medicare? At this time, Medicare will not pay for acupuncture services unless performed by an MD. There are a few Medicare supplement policies that will cover acupuncture services, and we will bill those companies once we are in network..
